Recently, Shanghai has had its fill of hip hop, indie rock, and classic rock artists come to perform for the locals. We'll now get a bit of the pop and R&B vocal genres with the recent announcement of Christina Aguilera's Asian tour dates, which includes a stop in Shanghai. It will be her only concert in China ... sorry, Beijing. The tour is part of Christina's Back to Basics tour, featuring songs from her latest album of the same name.
Here are her scheduled tour dates in Asia:
Jun 18 2007 Osaka JYO Hall Osaka
Jun 20 2007 Budokan Tokyo
Jun 21 2007 Budokan Tokyo
Jun 23 2007 Olympic Gym of Olympic Park Seoul
Jun 24 2007 Olympic Gym of Olympic Park Seoul
Jun 26 2007 Shanghai Grand Stage Shanghai
Jun 30 2007 Singapore Indoor Stadium Singapore
Jul 3 2007 AsiaWorld Arena Hong Kong
Jul 6 2007 Open Field at The Fort Manila
Since these dates were just announced, no details about the tickets or ticket prices have been given yet. So far, even the Shanghai Grand Stage website doesn't list the concert date yet. As soon as updates are given, Shanghaiist will let everyone know.
While we are very excited at seeing a real and talented vocalist come to our fair city, Shanghaiist has some reservations. We are a bit concerned that Christina's sexually playful lyrics and interesting clothing choices may get her into some trouble with the censors. Shanghaiist is praying on every dumpling that one of our favorite divas goes the way of the Black Eyed Peas and doesn't get "Jay-Z-ed". |
