American pop singer Christina Aguilera thrills eastern China's cosmopolitan Shanghai with her first-ever concert in the Chinese mainland. Her energetic show hit the stage Tuesday night.
More than five thousand people crowded the Shanghai Grand Stage to watch Aguilera perform hits from her successful "Back to Basics" album.
Her Shanghai concert is the only concert on the Chinese mainland. Tokyo, Singapore, Seoul, and Manila are the next stops on the Asian tour. Aguilera says the Asian tour is sort of a homecoming for her. She spent a few years of her childhood in Japan.
Aguilera, renowned for her eye-catching costume choices as much as her soaring ballads, is the latest in a growing list of international stars to play in Shanghai.
